Without Falsehood is the debut album by Nous Alpha, the collaborative project between composer and multi-instrumentalist Christopher Bono and producer and noisemaker Gareth Jones.
The project emerged through a desire to work together in a way that prioritised shared presence and deep listening. From the outset, the two committed to creating only when physically together in the same space, resisting the convenience of remote collaboration between New York and London.
The album was formed through a series of duo “duet improvisations,” governed by a simple constraint: any additional contribution from one artist needed to be matched by the other in a second improvisation. This process resulted in layered works that remain uncluttered — pieces that evolve through response and balance rather than accumulation.
Without Falsehood draws on acoustic textures, environmental atmosphere, and intimate performance, with electronics integrated as colour and structure rather than spectacle. The result is immersive music that unfolds slowly, inviting sustained attention and a sense of inner space.
